About me

I am a qualified and experienced Psychodynamic therapist and Supervisor offering one-to-one long term and short term sessions in Wokingham.

Our first steps for help are often the hardest.

When experiencing difficulties of emotional stress such as loss, relationship breakdown, work worries and painful life events.

Talking with a Psychotherapist can help you to understand how past experiences, and worry about the future or lack of confidence may be affecting your life today. A professional Psychotherapist can help you to reflect on how you are responding to your life events, and help you to explore how you relate more effectively to others and yourself. Counselling provides a unique professional relationship to explore your thoughts and feelings, aiming to help you make your own choices and bring about change.

My Way of Working.

As a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist I will help you to gain some awareness and insights to why you are feeling the way you do in your current situation.

I take a collaborative approach, working at your pace, using curiosity and open exploration to foster deeper self-awareness and emotional growth, guiding you toward lasting and meaningful change.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UKCP

Step families have become the fastest growing trend in family development over the last few years. Being a member of a step family can be a challenging, lonely, over crowded, and in some cases a stressful experience.I have attended training work shops at The Tavistock Centre for Family Relationships and have considerable experience in working with clients affected by bereavement divorce/separation and the reformed step-family.
