Jamie-Jean Burns MBACP, ....The Clinic of Counselling and Hypnotherapy
Work covered for individuals, couples, teenagers and children from four upwards.
Counselling is a very personal exploration, I want to make sure that you understand that you will be provided with a safe space, complete confidentiality and all issues can be examined in a non-judgmental manner.
I work with an Integrative approach, trained in several types of counselling and psychotherapy that can include humanism, psychodynamics, Cognitive
behavioural therapy, Gestalt as well as the coaching of mindfulness.
We will work together to help be the best version of you, I am committed to personal growth and ultimately helping you to make positive changes. Counselling will not only consider what is happening now but may also look at the impact of your past, this can include inner child work.
I offer a safe space for couples to investigate what is happening in their relationship and facilitate a place to explore doing things differently, including improving communication, interactions, conflict resolution skills and create an environment where you can understand each other and make healthy choices in an often difficult situation.
Young people often struggle with anxiety, identity issues, trauma, temper tantrums,
anger, bed wetting and family break ups.
According to the child’s age I use a range of therapeutic models concentrating on a child-centered approach, using play therapy including sand trays, art, Lego, music,
imagination and stories to explore feelings and thoughts.
Every child is unique, I use an integrative approach to tailor-make the counselling
to the child’s individual needs and how they see the world. I find this brings the best response and allows them to be individual and feel valued.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an Integrative counsellor which means I trained in many different approaches, I believe that one single approach does not fit every client.
I worked with Womens aid for a number of years so experience in dealing with issues such as rape, violence and relationships, many of my clients at Women aid and privately have suffered from depression, suicidal thoughts, high anxiety, self-esteem issues, the list is goes on.
I am extremely passionate about my work,....you do not have to do this alone, I am supportive but challenging as I want you to get the most from the sessions.
I am a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, life coach and a practitioner in Neuro- Linguistic programming.
My depth of experience and knowledge means I can help people to make real changes, and realise their own potential.
Absolutely fantastic. I took my 7 year old to see Jamie, she was brilliant with children, very kind and patient. My daughter has issues with food and sensory issues and only eats certain foods, by the end of the second session she ate strawberry, banana, grapes and carrot! This may not sound that much to most people but it is such an achievement for her to not be gagging at those foods like she usually does. We can’t thank you enough she is now trying foods more confidently. After such a great result we took my aunt to see her who is 70 and suffers with severe OCD and has done for the last 40+ years. After one session she went home that night without doing endless checks and routines like usual she just went straight up to bed! We are so proud of her and so grateful to Jamie for her help we honestly can’t Thankyou enough and will highly recommend you to everyone we meet!!
Jamie was absolutely amazing and managed to fit my daughter in very quickly. Nothing was too much trouble and she even came out in an emergency when my daughter was having a breakdown to calm her. After 2 sessions and 8 whole months of a sever mental block my daughters confidence returned and her anxiety had drastically improved. She was very understanding and learned as much as she could about the struggles my daughter was facing to ensure the sessions were successful. I would not hesitate to recommend Jamie to others.
Jamie came highly recommended to me for the hypno gastric band. From the questions even before my sessions began she goes really into depth to make it personalised for every person. she has really helped me overcome some of my issues relating to binge eating and the difference in myself is amazing already.
I have just had excellent hypnotherapy sessions with Jamie. I’ve been struggling with weight management and confidence. Now losing weight following a Gastric Band hypnosis and one for eradicating snacking. Loved it. Give Jamie a ring.. you'll not regret it!
Thank you so much, from our first phone consultation I felt so at ease, I had no idea what NLP was but was advised this was the best option to combine this and hypnotherapy for stopping smoking. Just amazed at the results, highly recommended
I do not normally write reviews but I am achieving such a great result with this clinic. Could not ask for better from the results I am seeing, how comfortable and at ease I feel in the session and how confident the therapist makes me feel in terms of her professionalism and approach.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
