About me
Hello, I'm Jamie, a qualified therapeutic counsellor, looking forward to understanding and supporting you on your counselling journey.
- Are you experiencing low moods, frustration, or anxiety, which means you are unable to enjoy a healthy life?
- Do you feel out of sync with reality or disconnected from your life?
- Does life feel harder than it should, finding yourself stuck or without the tools you need to make changes?
- Do you hope for relationships that are more meaningful and that satisfy your needs?
I offer support tailored to your specific needs, whether you're seeking individual growth or looking to improve your relationship dynamics.
At its core, my approach centres on understanding and affirming your identity and how you relate to the world around you. We will work collaboratively to alleviate your distress, build healthier, more meaningful relationships with yourself and others, and empower you to feel more certain of who you truly are.
Specialist areas that my approach works well with are:
- Mens mental health - Providing a safe and supportive space for you to explore your challenges through male-focused therapy. Acknowledging the obstacles specific to men in therapy.
- LGBT+ affirmative therapy - Embracing your sexual identity and gender in therapy, and acknowledging the additional stress of living in a heteronormaitve reality.
- Neurodivergence affirmative therapy - Welcoming you to explore your issues from within your lived experience, and express yourself in ways that reflect your true, whole self.
- Relationship and family issues - Addressing family estrangement, abuse, and other relational difficulties free from social stigma.
- Couples counselling - Helping partners strengthen their communication and resolve conflict and other relationship issues.
- Unexplained distress or anxiety - Identify the root causes of your problems through free exploration of yourself and your reality. We will focus on growth rather than specific goals.
Deciding on the right counsellor to meet your needs is an important first step. I invite you to a complimentary 15-minute introductory video or telephone session to assist you in making an informed decision.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
