About me

Hello! I'm Jade, and I am a passionate and committed Integrative Counsellor MNCPS Acc. Based in Thurrock, who offers face-to-face, phone, and online therapy in Thurrock. As an Integrative Counsellor I believe that there are different therapeutic ways in order to meet the specific needs of the client, which is why I will blend together the different approaches of Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA).

I love to help others and want nothing more than to walk alongside you in your step towards healing and self-discovery. For me as your counsellor to provide a friendly space where you can be your authentic self, explore your thoughts, feelings and, behaviours in a non-judgemental environment and finally a place you can navigate through life challenges to find your own solutions.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vital part of your progress, which is why I will do my utmost best to be open, honest, give encouragement, and equip you to becoming the best version of yourself.

I believe that we are all UNIQUE and that we all have PURPOSE in life which is why when working with each of my clients it will be fresh every time, trying to see life from your perspective, where you want to be and helping you to bring about positive changes so that you can become the best version of yourself.

Whether you are in need of understanding your feelings or struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, anger, self-harm, addiction, and much more. Please get in touch, and we can start this journey together, step by step, one moment at a time.

What to expect from your first session?

The first session isn't always an easy one because taking the step into seeking help from a counsellor can be very difficult. So, I will greet you with a friendly smile and try my best to help you feel comfortable and safe. I will then begin to go through our counselling contract together, which is our terms and agreements that we will both agree on going forward in our therapeutic relationship. For example, times, cancellations, confidentiality, and so on. I will then begin to ask a few questions, such as what are your symptoms? why did you seek out counselling? what do you want to change? Goals, etc?

I believe that transparency is crucial so it is very important for me to explain that counselling isn't a quick fix and it isn't a place for me to advise or tell you what to do but instead for me to work with you in where you want to be and helping you to find your own solutions to your current problems.

How can counselling help?

Counselling is beneficial and a great resource to those who want to navigate through life difficulties. Counselling allows you to speak to someone who is actively listening to what you want to say, provides a space without judgement and someone who is going to give you the space to find clarity in what your going through. It is for those with a wide range of mental and emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, and so on. Through talking therapy, the client can feel listened to, valued, receive compassion, increase in self-awareness, and develop the skills to manage the challenges that they bring within the session.

Where I am currently?

Currently, I am a schools mentor working with ages 11-18 years supporting those who are struggling with different complexities such as behaviour, anger management, difficult life transitions, self-harm, risk of exclusions, and so on. I will develop plans and goals in order for young people to reach them. I motivate and empower them to gain an understanding of themselves and their potential.

I am also experienced in working and supporting young people with SEND not only do I have personal experience with raising a SEND child myself but I have gained experience over the years and training within my professional role with working and supporting SEND individuals.

I am currently counselling those in Addiction Recovery, which is close to my heart for personal reasons. I have enjoyed every moment, and I will continue to grow in my compassion and desires in supporting those in recovery.

My well-being is important to me so I regularly make sure I swim, go out into Nature, daily taking part in Mindfulness activities in order to be more present, alone time for peace, reading, and grabbing a coffee with a great listener.
