About me
How can I help?
I understand how difficult it can be to feel stuck in whatever distress you may be feeling. Ultimately most people want to feel better able to cope with their problems, improving their quality of life.
I aim to offer you a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental space where you can explore challenging issues and feelings. I passionately believe that whatever challenges we currently face, whatever sadness, anger or anxiety we are carrying around with us, we have it within us to change our experience. I believe building greater self-awareness, understanding and self-acceptance is healing and offers opportunities for change and growth.
About me
I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist. I have studied and draw on a number of modalities (including Humanistic, Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis) in order to work in a way that suits you and the issues you bring.
I see adults (18+) face to face in my therapy room on Marlow High Street as well as online. The pace and duration of therapy varies and depends on your needs and I offer both short-term and long-term therapy.
I completed my Diploma and MSc at Metanoia which is widely regarded as one of the most thorough trainings available. I am accredited by the UKCP, adhering to their ethical guidelines which includes undertaking regular Continuing Professional Development.
I am also a qualified EMDR therapist registered with EMDR UK & Europe.
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a clinically proven psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences and trauma. It typically involves using side to side eye movements combined with talk therapy in a specific and structured format. EMDR helps you process the negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with traumatic memories that seem to be stuck. It helps you to see things from a different perspective and relieves the symptoms that you were suffering. https://youtu.be/bIJZQAr9nQo
EMDR is an effective therapy in working with clients that may feel unable to talk about their problems in detail but need to feel relief from psychological distress. This approach is also effective for clients with other difficulties such as grief, anxiety disorders, depression, pain and phobias.
This is not an exhaustive list but I have experience of helping people with;
- Anxiety/Panic Attacks
- Stress
- Depression
- Abuse & Trauma
- Personality Adaptations including BPD
- Addiction
- ADHD/ADD
- Self Esteem & Shame
- Anger
- Relationship Issues
- Loss & Grief
- Sexuality
Take the next step...
Please give me a call on 07515 564077 or send an email via the link if you would like to discuss your needs further without any obligation. If you would like to consider therapy with me, we can then arrange an initial exploratory session.
The exploratory session is an opportunity for us to discuss your concerns, and your hopes for therapy. It is also a chance for us to get a sense of each other, to see if you feel comfortable with me and how we might work together to bring about the changes you are hoping for. There is overwhelming evidence to show that the key to good therapeutic outcome rests not only in your desire for change but also in the quality of the therapeutic relationship that is, between you and I. It is vital therefore that you feel you are comfortable working with me and that we are able to build a good relationship based on mutual respect and trust.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
