About me
Hi my name is Jacquie.
Whether you are feeling that all is not well for you and are low in your mood, stuck, experiencing loss, burnt out or feeling anxiety I am here to support you. Or perhaps you are tired of having to show up with a mask to present yourself as another person due to your race, identity, gender or sexuality, if so, then we can work to uncover who you really are. As a black neuroaffirmative therapist I help my adult and young clients, who are mainly neurodiverse, to keep them safe and contained in what can be challenging and uncertain times that they and you may be facing.
Areas we might explore together to help you gain more perspective, self-care, resilience, meaning and support on are:
- Overthinking, anxious feelings, low self-esteem or self-criticism
- Depression, stress and burnout
- Confidence, boundaries and communication
- Grief, loss, big or small trauma
- Life transitions, race, cultural or self-identity and direction.
My style and approach is to hear you non-judgementally and gently encourage expression of yourself. I will supportively question, name and explain behaviour patterns, use cognitive tools to help you and be beside you to manage your emotions to where you are in a connected better place.
In my main day time role I also work with neurodiverse children and young people (CYP) aged 8-18 years old in schools and youth centres, incorporating play and psychoeducation. I offer them medium level wellness coping methods and have a current enhanced DBS.
My private practice is based in Peckham and Croydon venues as well as online.
Coaching
I offer one to one online life and executive coaching for middle to senior executives and am open to all clients particularly those who are struggling with race issues in achieving their career and development goals. This might be around changing career, becoming more organised and effective in your current work/life, burnout, redundancy, gaining confidence in certain situations, or simply relating to others. I will work with you using questions, techniques and methods to help you find your own solutions to manage your changes or challenges. I can work with you to integrate your completed reports such as 360 degree feedback, NEO or 16 personalities into behavioural solutions.

Counselling
I am a qualified integrative counsellor. Integrative simply means that I will be led by you as an individual and will provide different relational approaches, including psychodynamic, person centred or reparative interventions depending on your circumstance past or present. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
