Training, qualifications & experience

My experience includes 10 years in one of the top Eating Disorder wards within SLAM NHS Trust in London. This work not only included supporting patients with their eating disorder, but also involved support with other issues, including many in the list above. This work was undertaken through 1:1 therapy, group therapy and family therapy. During this time, I also received one year’s training at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, studying Systemic/Family Therapy. This work resulted in improved patient mental health, due to supporting patients through relationship difficulties.

Previously, I worked in a secondary school for two years, providing counselling for pupils aged 11-18, covering a range of issues. In addition, I have provided bereavement therapy as a qualified Bereavement Counsellor.

Statement

I work with all ages, have experience in a wide range of issues and use different models of therapy, according to the need of my client/s. I am told I am personable and can relate to all types of people. I believe that every individual is important and has the right to be heard and supported, when in need; hence the reason for my passion in working to provide a genuine, non-judgemental space for my client/s to explore and work through difficulties, which may be holding them back from living life to the full.
