About me
Are you going through a time of change or loss that feels overwhelming?
Life can shift in so many ways; through job changes, redundancy, moving home, the end of a relationship, health challenges, bereavement, or retirement. Even changes we’ve chosen or looked forward to can bring unexpected stress and uncertainty.
Everyone experiences these transitions differently. My role is to walk alongside you, to really listen, and to help you find your own way forward at a pace that feels right for you. I believe you hold the wisdom to make the best choices for yourself, and together we can explore what that might look like.
My own personal experiences of profound loss, including child bereavement, allow me to bring deep empathy and understanding to the therapeutic space.
Professionally, I am a qualified therapist and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have worked in mental health for many years as a practitioner, manager, and clinical supervisor. For almost a decade, I held a senior management role at a national mental health charity, and I now focus on private practice where I can work more closely with individuals.
If you feel ready, I’d be honoured to support you in making sense of your situation and helping you move toward a calmer, more hopeful future.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so we can get to know each other and see if working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Graduate Diploma in Psychology (University of West London)
- Diploma in therapeutic counselling (person-centred)
- Level 6 Certificate in Clinical Supervision (CPCAB/UEL accred.)
- Certificate in Coaching (Middlesex University accred.)
- Masters, Senior Leadership and Management, Imperial College Business School)
I enjoyed an international career in research management before life-events motivated me to retrain in Psychology, Counselling and Coaching. I have experienced loss, and dramatic changes in my own life and am familiar with the family impact of Special Educational Needs (ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia) and addiction. I am passionate about helping others overcome their challenges and learn to feel comfortable with who they are.
Having examined and redirected my own life choices and career I can offer support to others experiencing significant changes in their lives. Whilst I cannot know exactly how it is for you, my experience will provide a reference to the impact of what you are experiencing and your desire to make or cope with transitions.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
