About me

Do you feel lost and alone? Maybe you're struggling to come to terms with a loss? Or perhaps you're dealing with a difficult diagnosis? Counselling can help you to: - Learn how to cope again following your loss - Explore and understand your grief, reducing isolation and improving confidence - Face difficult conversations, bringing back a sense of control.

I specialise in working with end-of-life clients, bereavement including individuals coping with baby and child loss, and those living with cancer and other chronic conditions. Additionally, my own personal experience of grief has deepened my empathy and understanding allowing me to connect with and support a diverse range of people.

I am also a qualified EMDR trauma-focused therapist.

Alongside my private practice I work at the Priory Chelmsford, I am on the trusted supplier list for Carers First and I work as the team counsellor for Reclaim Mobility. I have also spent the last 12 years working in hospice settings.

I work integratively which means I can tailor my approach to suit your requirements. I am also a qualified online therapist, which means I can offer online sessions as well as face to face.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I offer a free, no obligation 20 minute call to discuss any questions or concerns you might have and to see if we might be a good fit. Feeling comfortable with your therapist is really important and it may not happen first time.

If we agree to work together, we will work through a short assessment and I can give you an idea of what to expect during our time together.
