About me

Welcome. If you’re reading this then I imagine something in your life feels too hard to face alone. Maybe it’s a difficult relationship? A stressful work life? Some painful family dynamics? Or perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed by past events and patterns that seem to keep repeating themselves?

Whatever you’re struggling with, therapy is a place to be fully heard, understood, and supported; where your inner world can be expressed without fear or shame. A safe space where you can make sense of what you feel including the emotions you have learned to suppress and the things you are carrying alone.

Navigating your way through a difficult time on your own can feel daunting, but I can help you overcome your challenges with kindness and at a pace that feels comfortable for you. With empathy and a grounded presence, together we can explore what has happened, sift through the residual thoughts & feelings and then find a way forward that works for you. I work from a place of acceptance and compassionate understanding to help you restore balance and build a happier life experience through increased inner awareness and self-empowerment.

Therapy is a gift we give to ourselves, an honouring of the inner voice that seeks clarity, resolution & freedom. You are never alone in that search, so please reach out and we can discuss further.

Training, qualifications & experience

My path began many years ago in the corporate world so I can relate to the stresses that come with working life. After feeling unfulfilled for some time, I felt the pull towards a vocation where I could be in service to others. After completing intensive training at postgraduate level, I now run a therapy practice helping people explore and integrate the challenges they are dealing with on their own journey.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I hold the following qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. Level 7. BACP accredited.
  • Graduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Foundations. BACP accredited.
  • Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling. BACP accredited.
  • Transactional Analysis 101. UKATA certified.
  • Certificate in Humanistic Counselling Concepts.  BACP accredited.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My fee is £60 (50 minutes) but I sometimes have low-cost places available so please ask. Online sessions are £50.

Primarily I work in the here and now, looking at your thoughts and feelings as well as retrospectively to consider where patterns may have originated, such as in childhood and family dynamics.

Every client is an individual with a unique history and I have found that a flexible approach serves and honours our needs best. Having trained in various modalities I can draw on a range of skills to offer the most beneficial support.

Paramount to all of this is that you are fully accepted as you are with kindness, understanding and empathy.

After you reach out to me, we will arrange a convenient time to have an initial chat. This is free of charge and can be either on the phone or a video call – whichever you prefer. I will ask about your reasons for seeking therapy and what you are looking for from me. If for some reason I am unable to help then I will do my best to suggest an alternative therapist/organisation.

Our first session is an opportunity for us both to ask questions and look at your hopes and goals for our work. It’s a chance for us to get a feel for whether we would be a good match. If we decide to proceed, we would normally have a further 6 sessions and then review how our work is going.

I believe in the client-therapist relationship as the primary container for change and as with any relationship, this takes a little time and trust to build. Beginning therapy is the first step towards the change you are seeking. Let’s start now... I look forward to working with you.
