About me
I'm Jack Richards, a counsellor based in Newton Abbot, Devon. I offer various counselling services, including face-to-face, online, telephone, "walk and talk" sessions and a limited number of free counselling/pay what you can sessions.
Counselling is a very personal journey, and finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming. My aim is to make this process as easy as possible for you by offering my time and honesty in a comfortable, confidential environment where we can work in a way that best suits your needs.
Taking the first step in "looking" for support is a significant one. When you're ready, and at your own pace, you can take the next.
For more information, please explore my website. You'll find more in depth details about my background, the services I provide, answers to common questions about counselling, and how best to contact me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Jack

**My Counselling Career**
As a counsellor, I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for you to explore your emotions and challenges. My integrated approach combines Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt Therapy, all within an empathetic and non-judgmental environment.
I am a member of both the National Counselling Society (NCPS) and the Westcountry Association for Counselling. I completed my four-year specialized training at Devon Counselling College and have also undertaken further training in suicide awareness (ASIST) with Living Works. Additionally, I spent two years volunteering at The Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy and undergo further training in various areas to broaden my experience.
This experience has deepened my understanding of how I can support individuals dealing with a range of issues, including but not limited to PTSD, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. I am committed to helping you navigate your journey in the safest way possible.
