About me

Hello, my name is Jack Brown, welcome to my profile page.

"Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul." - Carl Jung

For the past few years of my fulfilling career, I have had the privilege of helping people around the world through some of the most dark and difficult times of their lives. I have come to realise that people are holistic beings, compromising of mental, emotional, physical, social, spiritual and energetic facets that come together to make the whole being.

Having had my own experience with therapy in the past, I understand how important it is to feel safe, supported, seen and truly understood, whilst at the same time knowing that you are working with a fully competent, experienced and qualified therapist who you can trust and connect with. Having successfully worked through my own trauma and anxiety, I'm passionate about helping others do the same.

I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel genuinely heard, while also starting to make sense of what’s going on and how to move forward.

How I can help

I often work with people who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety and overthinking
  • Low mood or depression
  • Stress and burnout
  • Loss of confidence or feeling a bit lost
  • Unresolved trauma
  • Confidence
  • Self-discovery and life fulfilment

We'll take time to understand what's been happening for you - but we won't stay stuck there.

Using CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and neuroscience-backed approaches, I'll gently help you to:

  • Break out of unhelpful thought patterns
  • Feel more in control of your emotions
  • Respond differently to difficult thoughts
  • Build confidence and a clearer sense of direction
  • Process and heal any past trauma

My approach

For me, therapy is about between feeling supported and actually seeing change. I’ll always meet you with warmth, empathy and no judgement—but I’ll also share practical tools and ways of working that can help you start to feel differently.

We’ll work together, at your pace, to understand what’s keeping you stuck and find a way forward that feels right for you.

A bit about me

Alongside my training, I bring a real understanding of how difficult things can feel at times—especially when anxiety, self-doubt or emotional pain start to take over.

Because of that, I aim to offer a space that feels human, grounded and safe, where you don’t have to pretend or have it all figured out.

What you can expect

People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to start.

Over time, many begin to notice that they:

  • Feel calmer and more in control
  • Are less caught up in negative thought patterns
  • Can respond to challenges in a different way
  •  Start to feel more like themselves again

Sessions

I offer a free initial consultation so you can get a feel for whether I’m the right person for you.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step—but it can also be the start of something really positive.

You’re very welcome to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

Feeling passionate about helping others the same way therapy has helped me, I have dedicated my career to training in the most powerful modalities and spending lots of time out of hours doing continued personal development, with NCSP Accreditation to verify this. This includes:

  • Level 2 Basic Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 Counselling Skills
  • Level 4 Counselling Skills & Theory
  • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Skills & Theory Distinction
  • Level 5 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Diploma Distinction
  • Hypnotherapy Practitioner Level
  • NCPS Certified Accreditation

I have experience working as a therapist for several years now in a variety of settings including a University, a charity based service, online internationally, and now, my own private practise. I love to provide clients with useful tools they can use right from the first session. By exploring the client's inner world at their own pace, allowing them to process their emotions and be truly heard, I have been along for the journey of people unlocking the power that we all have inside of us - the power we sometimes forget we have. That's the power to find our answers within ourselves and be the true rulers of our life.

I have experience working with a range of different people, of all ages, from all over the world - from students to professionals in high-pressure roles such as healthcare, business and legal fields. No persons problems are ever exactly the same, but something I’ve found many people have in common is feeling that they aren’t 'enough', or that their problem isn’t ‘bad enough’ in comparison to someone who has it ‘really bad’. So they continue moving through life with what feels like an invisible back pack - nobody can see it, but you can feel how heavy it is. We all need help sometimes and there is absolutely no shame in that. Holding a safe and supportive space allows for stillness…And answers come in stillness.

Further information

Love and compassion are some of the greatest healers. I work with unconditional positive regard for all of my clients, without any judgements. Nobody has walked in your shoes or experienced things exactly the same way that you have. Through the training I took to achieve my qualifications, I have a wide range of different tools and skills to pass on to my clients. I aim to give clients practical tools they can use from the very first session, encouraging them to work through, or towards, whatever it is they need to.

If you're anything like I was when I was searching for a therapist of my own years ago, you'll be looking for that welcoming person, who wont make you feel like a case study, but a capable human being. Someone who welcomes you, as a trusted, reliable professional and provides you with the support, learning and skills you need to work on whatever it is you have come to therapy for. I strive to be that person for you.

My experience of working with so many different clients has given me the privilege of seeing people, from all walks of life, have their personal breakthroughs and transformations. That is what I'm passionate about. It would be a privilege to help you do the same.

I work particularly well with people who wish to overcome anxiety, stress and burnout, as well as childhood trauma and any limiting beliefs that are holding you back from reaching your fullest potential in life.

If you're interested in learning more about me, I welcome you to contact me for a free consultation without any obligations. Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

When sessions are happening in-person, I work from a room at ground level to aid accessibility.
