About me
I’m Ije (pronounced Ee-jay; she/her), an Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I offer a warm, relational and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, deepen your understanding of yourself and consider what meaningful change might look like for you.
My approach draws on different therapeutic perspectives, recognising the connections between our inner worlds, our past, relationships, identities, and wider socio-political context that shape us. I welcome people from all walks of life, with a particular awareness and experience of, the experiences and challenges faced by people of colour, the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent people, creatives, and anyone who has felt a little out of place.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training is in Integrative Transpersonal Psychotherapeutic Counselling, bringing together different therapeutic approaches to support each person as an individual. My practice is informed by relational, Jungian and transpersonal perspectives, with an interest in dreams, symbolism, images, music, creativity and the unconscious.
I value ongoing learning and reflection, and seek to work in a way that is thoughtful, inclusive and responsive to the different identities, experiences and circumstances people bring to therapy.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
The name Ije (Ijeoma) means 'safe journey', and this meaning sits at the heart of my practice. I see therapy as a journey we take together, at a pace that feels right for you, making space for curiosity, honest reflection, gentle challenge, and creativity.
You can bring your messy and uncertain parts, and come just as you are.
I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, either over the phone or via video, giving us an opportunity to meet, talk a little about what brings you to therapy, and consider whether working together feels like the right fit at this time.
