About me

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and you just need that helping hand to get you back on track; or maybe there is something specific that you are struggling with at the moment.

I offer a warm, friendly and positive supportive space to discuss whatever is worrying you. We’ll take it at your pace so you feel safe and comfortable to explore your thoughts and feelings.

I can also help you to begin to identify what may be preventing you from doing what you want to do, or being who you want to be in life. So often it is the way we think about things that ends up working against us and I can help you to explore this and find more helpful ways of approaching life.

I have spent the last few years working closely with AnxietyUK helping people to build their resilience and face their fears. Anxiety is something that we all live with to some degree; it is an essential part of being human. However, sometimes it can feel like it is taking over and that is when seeking some additional support can be helpful.

I offer a professional, confidential service face to face, over the phone or via Skype allowing greater flexibility to access therapy in a method that suits you and your current situation.

I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, have regular supervision to support my practice and I am fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
