About me
If you are looking for a therapist who has experience and can provide a confidential space for you to discuss issues which are affecting your everyday life why not give me a call.
- I can help if you need to talk to someone who understands what you mean and where you are coming from
- I can help if you would like to be more confident, productive and motivated and want help to change some aspects of your life
I am an experienced therapist specialising in CBT, life coaching and supervision. I have have been working for many years work with children, adults, adolescents, couples, groups and families with issues which can ultimately lead to confusion, anxiety and depression, difficult moods and behaviours. I will give you the space and time to make changes in your life in a private, comfortable and safe environment.
I am an experienced child and adolescent trained counsellor, Senior Accredited with the National Counselling Society and a Registered Member of BACP. I am also a qualified life coach and offer mindfulness, relaxation and hypnotherapy in my sessions and as every client is individual, an initial assessment is encouraged before therapy begins.
I work with lots of different issues including:
general anxiety - which can be very debilitating and stop anyone from moving forward. I can help you to understand these feelings and enable you to move on in your life
depression - which can take away the feeling that you may never be happy again. Life can become uncomplicated again
couples/relationship/marital difficulties - whether you want to end a relationship or just want to work through some difficulties
abuse - emotional, physical, sexual and verbal
anger - exploring what makes you angry and enabling you to see the signs of anger building up
behaviour problems in both children and adults
bereavement, grief and loss - the loss of significant people in our lives can have a devastating effect on us. Counselling can help you to come to terms with those losses and enable you to move on with your own life
confidence issues - I can help you to believe in yourself, that anyone has the ability to meet life's challenges and the ability to succeed—and acting in a way that conveys that belief. Being confident requires having a realistic sense of one's capabilities and feeling secure in that knowledge
domestic violence - or abuse can happen to anyone. I will help you to find out how to recognise the signs and how to get help
goal setting - if we want to succeed, we need to set goals. Without goals we can lack focus and direction. Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life's direction it also provides a benchmark for determining whether you are actually succeeding
low self esteem - I can help you to feel better about yourself
OCD - can be exhausting so finding ways of coping can be helpful
stress - we all have some levels of stress in our lives but with help we can manage it
work related problems - whatever the problem is, there is a solution just waiting to be found
If there are other difficulties not on this list please contact me as I also deal with many other issues.
I am fully DBS checked for both adults and children and I am also BUPA recognised and certified.
I can offer daytime and evening appointments for both counselling and supervision and I am happy to visit you in your own home if you find it difficult to get out and about. I also offer an individual service for clients on the telephone or online if it is more convenient.
Reflections Counselling is situated within very easy reach of the A1, M1 and M18 and there is a very frequent bus service a few minutes walk away.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have been a supervisor for many years and have lots of experience of counselling and coaching. I supervise student counsellors, qualified counsellors and other professionals working in different areas of mental health.
I offer face-to-face, telephone and online supervision and after so many weeks in lockdown I would also like to set up some group supervision to help all those of us who work in isolation - if there is anyone out there who is interested. It is a brilliant way to discuss our ways of working, meet other like-minded people, network and get CPD in the process.
Please note that in these difficult times if you are working more hours than usual it is extremely important to ensure that you are having the correct amount of supervision in line with your governing body guidelines.
My fees are £50 for up to one and a half hours supervision every four weeks and I offer a discount for trainees.
Please contact me on 07803031773 for more information.
