About me
I help people deal with anxiety or depression by looking at how past events and relationships have an effect on the present, tackling the root of your issues, rather than just the symptoms.
You may be able to point to a specific reason for why you want to start counselling, or you may have a sense that things do not feel right without being able to put your finger on why. This feeling could have developed recently, or may have been with you a long time, it may come and go, or it may feel as if it never ends.
Making the decision to start counselling can elicit feelings from fear to excitement, from anxiety to relief, and may even be all of those things at the same time.
The way I work is to create a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental environment, in which together we can explore your inner world and think about how your problems might be made sense of and understood. It is not my role to impose my own views on you, or to reduce your experiences to simplified explanations. Rather, it is for us to work together to think about how you understand yourself, your history, relationships and motivations without resorting to technical jargon.
An initial consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss what you want from the therapy and consider how best to support you with the help you need.
I see clients in person in central London, King's Cross, Kentish Town and Finsbury Park, or online via Zoom.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced BACP-registered Psychodynamic Counsellor, having trained at Highgate Counselling Centre. In addition to this, I have an MSc in Psychoanalytic Studies from UCL as well as a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. I also teach on a counselling skills certificate course.
I work with adults, from those experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues or trauma to those living with other issues including suicidal thoughts and abuse. I have helped vulnerable people at Highgate Counselling Centre and previously at the Maytree Respite Centre in Finsbury Park.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
