About me
Online spaces and limited in-person spaces now available for new clients - please contact for details of days and times of sessions and fees are detailed below (no current availability on Fridays or couples' counselling)
Welcome to Pathways Counselling, my neuro-affirming practice in Somerset. Are you struggling with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed around decision making or life transitions, sensory overload or feel you don't fit it in or conform to societal expectations? If any of this sounds familiar, I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where you can pause, reflect and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor providing warm, compassionate and down to earth counselling for adults (aged 18+) one-to-one either in person or online. By actively listening, exploring your inner world and working through any current struggles you are experiencing, I can help you rediscover and embrace who you really are, empowering you to live a happier and more meaningful life.
I am aware it is often a big step for people to begin or return to counselling, and I believe finding a counsellor who is a good fit is so important when considering beginning a new counselling relationship.
Therefore, I offer an initial 15 minute introductory call to get a sense of how we may work together and give you the opportunity to ask any questions. My fees for future work are £45 for online sessions and £60 for in person sessions with some concessions available for students. All sessions are for 50 minutes (maximum 60 minutes) on a weekly basis with some fortnightly slots also available. Please do reach out to discuss your individual requirements.
What can I help with?
You may be seeking therapy to resolve a particular issue, are in the midst of a crisis or it may be that something just doesn't feel right and you wish to talk things through in a safe, non-judgemental setting.
I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds, addressing a wide range of emotional, psychological and life challenges. These include but are not limited to anxiety, paranoid thoughts, low self-esteem, self-harm, life transitions, menopause and mental health, adults with childhood trauma.
I bring over seven years of experience working within mental health support roles, higher education and University settings providing both mentoring and counselling to neurodivergent learners, including those with ADHD and individuals on the autistic spectrum. This enables me to offer guidance and support for those navigating their unique experiences or embarking on a journey of self-discovery in relation to neurodiversity. Whilst I have undergone training to work with neurodivergent clients, this does not qualify me to make a diagnosis.
What can you expect from therapy sessions with me?
Our first few sessions will be getting to know each other, understanding your reasons for seeking counselling and discussing any goals or expectations you may have from our work together.
Together we can work towards understanding patterns of emotions and behaviours building on self-compassion and resilience. By developing tools and coping strategies to navigate difficult moments will help create meaningful lasting changes.
My role is to support your personal growth, enhance your sense of self-worth, and build confidence, empowering you to make informed decisions and initiate the healing process.
I work in-person from a therapy room set within peaceful gardens near Glastonbury and online to provide accessibility to individual clients throughout the UK on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I offer both short-term and open-ended sessions where we can work together as long as needed which we can discuss at our first session together. I am unable to provide couples counselling.
My therapeutic approach
My approach is primarily person-centred and humanistic, emphasising the development of a strong, trusting relationship as the foundation for effective therapy. This collaborative process aims to uncover the underlying causes of difficulties and challenges, enabling progress and positive change.
Together, we will explore creative and different perspectives and work towards processing both conscious and unconscious thoughts, while identifying behavioural patterns that may influence your life.
As a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I also draw upon a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to your individual needs.
These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to identify, challenge, and modify negative thought patterns and behaviours; Psychodynamic Therapy to explore past experiences, particularly those rooted in childhood, which may continue to impact your present life and Gestalt Techniques to encourage awareness of bodily sensations and emotions, fostering a deeper connection between mind and body.
