About me

Welcome. I’m Helen, an integrative neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic counsellor, imagery coach and published childrens' author, dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges with empathy, understanding and unconditional acceptance. Maybe you are here because you are anxious, sad, or overwhelmed, feeling depressed or even despair. You may be lost, feel unheard or misunderstood.

How can I help? In my past I sometimes felt lost, anxious and 'not good enough', but with good therapy, I learned to know and value myself. My experience led me to pursue a career in counselling. I will work with you to understand what happened to you, and help you to look at yourself and the world around you through a different lense.

I can provide you with a safe and confidential space to explore, untangle and understand your feelings, to facilitate healing and growth and emotional wellbeing. My training enables me to integrate different approaches that help me help you to look at the here and now, what came before, and how to move forward. People describe me as a warm, empathic person, easy to talk to and someone whom you can build a safe and trusting working relationship with. If you choose to work with me, I will put you at the centre, gently challenge you when appropriate, but support you every step of the way.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
