FdA Therapeutic Counselling

About me

With lived experience of anxiety, I offer therapy that is warm, compassionate and grounded in real understanding, with a particular interest in supporting those affected by Boarding School Syndrome.

I’m a young‑spirited woman in my fifties, and I’ve been working as a therapist for thirteen years — with the last five spent in private practice. As someone who has lived through many years of mental health difficulties myself, including severe anxiety, I understand how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. That lived experience is a big part of why I’m so passionate about helping others work through their own challenges.

My approach is warm, compassionate and gently challenging when it needs to be. I genuinely want therapy to feel like a space that fits you — not a one‑size‑fits‑all process. I understand that everyone is different, so I adapt the way I work depending on what each person needs. Whether you’re looking for someone steady and calm, someone who can help you make sense of things, or someone who can nudge you forward when you feel stuck, I’ll meet you where you are.

I am qualified to help with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression or low mood, self-esteem, trauma (see full list).

I see clients in a therapy room at the Quayside Wellbeing Clinic, a professional, modern and tranquil space right by the water, where you can talk in confidence. I can also offer sessions via Google Meet.

I believe it is essential to find the right therapist/client relationship, so I therefore offer a free 20-minute consultation via Zoom.

I am also trained at postgraduate diploma level as a therapist for adults experiencing symptoms of Boarding School Syndrome (psychotherapy for ex-boarders). Please see my website for further info about this.
