About me

Welcome. My name is Helen and I am an experienced BACP Accredited Psychotherapist, Trauma Therapist and Specialist Fertility Counsellor. I currently work in private practice, and prior to this, I worked in the NHS for over 10 years as a psychotherapist.

I decided to create this bespoke therapy service for women due to the ever-growing recognition that mental health difficulties amongst the female population is on the rise. Research has revealed that women are more likely to be diagnosed as suffering from depression and almost twice as likely to suffer from anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorders. For black, Asian and other women of colour, the rates are even higher, and for young women, they are now emerging as the highest risk group for suffering from mental health issues.

I specialise in working with women who have experienced trauma and other distressing life events, and also women who are struggling with infertility, baby loss and childlessness. I provide specialised infertility counselling, trauma therapy, as well as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I am passionate about supporting women. My aim is to provide a non-judgemental space where you will eventually feel safe enough to open up, talk and work through the difficulties you are experiencing.

Free telephone consultation

The first step towards change is to find the right therapist. Whatever you’re struggling with, I am happy to explore with you how I can be of help. I offer a free 20 min telephone consultation. This will be an opportunity for us to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and for you to get a sense of me and how I work. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

If after our telephone consultation we decide that it would be helpful to meet, the next stage of the process will be a face to face initial consultation where we can discuss your needs in more detail and how we can work together.

I am based at the OneTwoFive Therapy Rooms which is located in Stroud Green, North London, N4. The location serves both the Finsbury Park, Crouch End and surrounding areas.

In addition to face-to-face sessions, I also offer the option of online and telephone therapy sessions.

Please feel free to contact me with any queries.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Key details

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
