About me
Hello, thank you for taking time to look at my profile I am a person centred trauma informed therapist with 18 years experience.. I am a EMDR practitioner and have experience of working with trauma, please find more information on EMDR in the further information section.
I have worked for a local charity Beacon Counselling for 18 years and worked for the NHS IAPT service. I offer my clients a non judgmental, safe place to unpick my client's issues at their own pace. My aim is to establish trust so my clients feel comfortable to express their emotions.
I offer brief and long term therapy for adults and couples, my areas of expertise include: relationship issues, anxiety, depression, identity issues, self-esteem, confidence, communication issues, bereavement and loss, PTSD, trauma, domestic violence, abuse, anger management and work related issues.
Are you struggling to cope with pressures of the present, memories of the past and fears for the future, finding it difficult to challenge and break limiting patterns of thinking/feeling/behaving. I offer impartial support and working together I can assist you to gain a deeper awareness of yourself. Through this process, my clients gain new insight into their issues, increased self acceptance and new, effective ways of thinking and responding. The aim of my work is to empower clients so that they can make changes that improve their lives.
Sometimes it can be difficult to have a clear understanding/goal of what you want to work through in therapy. I can assist you in identifying your goals and what issues you wish to focus on and explain how we can work together.
I create a safe and empowering space where individuals feel encouraged to explore themselves at a deeper level.
During each session, I will always check out that our work together has a positive effect.
I adhere to the ethical framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am accredited member and hold a diploma in counselling. I am passionate about my work today as I was when I started my training in 2003.
Please contact me to check out for yourself if I am a counsellor who you wish to work with.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
