About me

A warm welcome, I am an experienced counsellor offering both face-to-face and online counselling to individuals 18+ years. I have supported clients experiencing a wide range of different challenges including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, stress, anger management, relationship problems, ill-health, low confidence and self-esteem and many others.

Seeking support may feel daunting at this time. Talking to those close to you may feel difficult and this may leave you feeling quite isolated in what you are going through.

I offer a confidential space of empathy and acceptance, in which I will work beside you in navigating through this difficult time. Using my experience and skills I will aim to help you build a better understanding and awareness of yourself and the situation you face, so you may feel empowered to make your own decisions or obtain the change or acceptance you may seek.

My integrative training means I can adapt a variety of counselling approaches to find an approach comfortable for you. Where appropriate I may offer tools to support your well-being. I believe that when a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship is built, emotional healing, self-confidence, and well-being can begin to flourish.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their professional Code of Ethics to ensure your best interests remain at the heart of our work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Counselling
  • Diploma in Counselling Adolescents (11+)
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Telephone and online counselling.

I have experience of volunteering as a counsellor at a number of adult and young people counselling charities within Hampshire and Berkshire providing face-to-face, online and telephone counselling for clients 11+ years.

The above form the foundation of my qualifications and experience. Furthermore, I am committed to my continual professional development to ensure that I continue to effectively meet client needs.

I hold full professional liability insurance and a clear current Criminal Records Bureau check.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I am conscious that your process of finding the right counsellor for you is paramount and therefore I offer a free 20-minute confidential telephone/Zoom introductory session. This session will give us an opportunity to gain an understanding of what you wish to explore and achieve in therapy and for you to determine if you would feel comfortable working with me. There will be no obligation to commit to ongoing counselling unless you feel ready to do so.

Whether you are looking for short-term or long-term therapy I am here to support you.

I offer face-to-face sessions from my private practice in Odiham, Hampshire. Alternatively, my flexible online sessions can fit around your schedule and can be accessed over Zoom from the comfort of your home. Online counselling has proven to be just as effective as face-to-face therapy, but this of course depends on your preferences and needs. All I would ask is that you have a confidential space where you will not be interrupted or overheard.

Please feel free to get in touch and we can have a chat through what you feel would work best for you.
