About me
COUNSELLOR & SUPERVISOR...RELATIONAL - PSYCHODYNAMIC / INTEGRATIVE
I am a professional counsellor & supervisor working in Cheltenham with adults and young adults (18+).
In addition to my private practice, I have worked with staff and young adults in a Higher Education setting for over 12 years.
Some of the issues I work with include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Bereavement and loss
- Stress at work
- Issues around bullying
- Relationship problems
- Panic attacks
- Anger
- Sexuality
- Confusion around Identity
- Family concerns
- Illness
- Suicidal feelings
- Self-esteem and confidence issues
- Work/life balance
- Trauma
While this list covers many things, we are all individuals and not one person’s story is the same. I believe everyone deserves to be listened to because their story is unique and just as relevant as any other.
Prior to setting up a private practice, I worked at Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS) as an Assessor and Counsellor for their Adult, Schools and Employee Welfare Services and have gained a number of years experience in working with individuals presenting with a wide range of difficulties.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Foundation degree in Psychodynamic Counselling Theory and Practice (awarded by the University of the West of England) and a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling Theory and Practice (awarded by Westminster Pastoral Foundation, WPF).
Supervision - I hold post grad qualification in Psychodynamic Supervision attained through Westminster Pastoral Foundation, London.
As a professional counsellor, I am committed to regular, ongoing training to ensure my own continued professional development.
Accreditation
Following completion of an Accreditation program, I became a Registered Member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) I work within the BPC Code of Ethics.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
