About me

Are you a highly sensitive female who feels deeply? Do you find social ineractions to be taxing? Perhaps you're prone to absorbing the stresses and emotions of those around you, which can often drain your energy. Without clear boundaries, you frequently find yourself saying "yes" when really you mean "no". You may also use alcohol to manage your social anxiety and boost your confidence, or you may be unable to truly relax and be yourself around others. If you have a desire to feel seen, heard, and understood, I can support you.

During our sessions I can help you to develop healthier coping mechanisms that allow you to engage with the world without losing your sense of self. I can help you to embrace your sensitivity, and cultivate self-acceptance and self-love. You'll feel more confident and self-assured in personal and professional settings and will be able to set clear and respectful boundaries. We would explore past experiences along with practical solutions and holistic practices such as music, breathwork, deep relaxation, and mindfulness.

Finding the right therapist can feel daunting. That's why I invite you to a free and confidential chat over the phone or via Zoom, lasting up to 30 minutes, where we can discuss the possibility of working together with no pressure to commit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a registered member of the BACP, and I have a postgraduate level 6 certificate in holistic integrative psychotherapy, specialising in mind-body principles. I also have a Master's degree and PhD in applied music psychology, and I am a university mental health lecturer with experience of teaching medical doctors and psychologists. I have done additional training in REBT, motivational interviewing, and breathwork. My psychotherapy training involved several years of study, and several years of attending my own psychotherapy as well as working with clients throughout the training.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
