About me
Hello, I’m Hayley, a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and Supervisor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a Diploma working with Children and Young People, a BSC (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Level 6 Diploma in Therapeutic Supervision qualification. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in your life.
My approach is person-centred, meaning our work together is guided by your individual needs and experiences. I integrate Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), drawing on a range of tools to help you develop practical strategies while also exploring deeper emotional patterns. This flexible style allows me to tailor therapy to suit you.
I work with Adults and Adolescents facing challenges such as Anxiety, Intrusive thoughts, Obsessive thoughts and Rituals, Phobias, Panic attacks, Stress, Bereavement, Depression, Self-Esteem issues, Relationship difficulties and Trauma.
I currently offer face-to-face sessions in Hurstpierpoint as well as online sessions making support accessible in a way that works best for you.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to listen and to help you find a way forward.
Please get in touch initially by email, and give an outline of what brings you to counselling. I will then arrange a time to talk on the phone so you can ask any questions you may have and also to see if you feel comfortable talking to me. This initial consultation is free of charge.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and have experience in charity settings, most recently working for The Schools Mental Health Service in Brighton and Hove.
I have recently qualified as Therapeutic Supervisor.
Integrative counselling means using a blend of theories, and I personally use Person Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
I have a vocational background in domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and child protection.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
