MNCS (Acc) Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Cert. Ad. Dip Psy C

About me

I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, warm and compassionate, who views the counselling process as a collaborative creation. Together, we build a trusting relationship and explore your experiences in a safe, non-judgemental space. My approach is conversational and flexible, tailored to what feels most important for you, and I work reflectively and curiously, sharing theory when helpful and supporting you to make decisions that feel right for you.

I use an integrative approach, gently working with the different “parts” of ourselves to help make sense of long-standing patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I don’t give advice or tell you what to do, instead, I provide a steady, non-judgemental space where you can reflect, understand yourself more clearly, and move toward growth in a way that feels authentic.

I believe people have the answers within themselves, and with time and reflection, change and growth are possible. Therapy can be challenging at times, but it can also be rewarding, inspiring, and transformative.

First session: Our initial session is a space to talk about what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call if you would like to talk briefly before booking.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, registered with the National Counselling Society (MNCS Accred), and fully insured. I adhere to ethical guidelines and undertake continual professional development to ensure my practice remains current and high-quality.

I hold:

Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Ad Dip PC)

Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory (Dip CST)

Level 3 Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (Cert Hyp CS)

I have experience supporting a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have worked with clients who have experienced childhood trauma, PTSD, and abuse at The Southmead Project in Bristol, and with parents experiencing birth trauma, antenatal and postnatal depression and anxiety, relationship challenges, and self-esteem difficulties at Bluebell Trust.

My background has equipped me with the skills to work compassionately and effectively with adults, young people (16–18), parents, midlife women, and men seeking meaningful change.

I work in a way that focuses on you and your experience, tailoring the sessions to suit what you need. Therapy is a partnership and we work together to explore what’s going on in your life.

I work gently with the different parts of ourselves, helping you understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I don’t give advice or tell you what to do; instead, I help you reflect so you can make decisions that feel right for you.

Additional information

Sessions

Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £60. I usually recommend starting with at least around 6–10 weekly sessions, which is often most helpful at the beginning. Some people find they like to continue for a longer commitment.

In our sessions, we’ll explore what you hope to get from therapy and any worries or concerns you may have.

The first session also lasts up to an hour and is an opportunity to decide together if therapy feels like the right fit for you. We will plan how to move forward based on what feels helpful for you.
