About me

I am Hayley, a fully qualified and registered BACP counsellor specialising in psychodynamic therapy. Our past experiences can shape how we show up in the world today, often in ways that operate outside our awareness. Childhood experiences; including trauma, attachment patterns and the unspoken rules we learned about relationships, can quietly influence our daily choices, behaviours and emotional responses. I offer a warm, compassionate and relational approach, providing bespoke support tailored to the individual within a highly confidential and safe space for adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds and physical abilities.

Through a psychodynamic approach, we can gently explore these deeper layers. By understanding where unconscious patterns may have begun, we can begin to untangle the root causes of your current struggles together. It may be the first time you have been able to speak freely without fear of burdening others or being misunderstood.

You may be navigating the intense demands of a career, or the needs of children, experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse or addiction, exploring experiences related to neurodiversity, or simply trying to cope with daily challenges that have become overwhelming. If any of these resonate with you, please do get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I currently run my counselling private practice, alongside volunteering my time to a charitable counselling services organisation.

  • DIPHE Psychodynamic Counselling with Distinction, University of Greenwich
  • I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and work within their ethical guidelines.
  • NCFE Cache Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills
  • TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

As well as receiving training in Addiction and Neurodiversity and working with clients in this field, I have also completed training at Sutton Women's Centre for working with clients whom are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
