About me
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be dealing with a specific challenge in your life; feel dissatisfied or sad; or want help understanding how your past experiences are impacting your present behaviour and emotional responses. Whatever is troubling you, I will work with you to explore this in a warm, supportive and non-judgmental space where you set the agenda and the pace of the work.
I work with individual adults (18+) and offer both short and long-term therapy, either in-person or online. I have experience supporting people with a range of mental health issues including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, grief and loss, intrusive thoughts, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts and work-related issues.
Experience has shown me that people need to feel safe within a trusting relationship with their counsellor for successful therapy to take place. I offer an environment where my clients feel seen, heard and valued. From this foundation, my aim is to help people gain personal insights; become more self-accepting; make choices, find solutions and bring about changes that feel right for them.
As an integrative counsellor, I have received training in various theoretical models which I draw on to meet the unique needs and issues that you bring to sessions. These approaches include person-centred, psychodynamic and tools from CBT.
Next steps
Finding the right counsellor is really important. That's why I offer a free, 15-minute introductory chat so we can explore what’s bringing you to therapy and you have time to ask questions and decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you.
Do get in touch with any questions or to book an introductory conversation.
If you decide to go ahead, we’ll book your first (50 minute) session and meet at the same time each week.
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m an experienced and qualified integrative counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from the CPCAB. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework. I am committed to ongoing professional development which has recently included training in trauma-informed practice, suicide awareness and attachment styles.
Together with my private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS, schools and a low-cost counselling service, supporting clients with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, health concerns, loneliness, self-worth, identity and childhood trauma.
I have a background in the creative arts and am experienced in working with people from all walks of life. I understand the pressures and challenges many of us face in day-to-day life and the impact this can have on our mental wellbeing. Drawing on my own experiences, I am particularly interested in significant life-transitions and the associated change and loss that can be experienced.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
