About me

My private practice, The Gracious Space, is a place where you can bring any feelings about your life, such as parts that feel confusing, or hard to carry alone.

I work with people experiencing: anxiety, sadness, stress, and intergenerational trauma, among other concerns.

Signs that you may need support look like feeling more irritable than usual, caught in cycles of self-doubt, sadness, anger, or numbness. And, these experiences can be exhausting. So, I believe distress deserves to be met in a calm, steady environment, at a pace that feels right for you.

I help to facilitate a space that looks to discover a more intentional and grounded way of living that works for you. Through honest and thoughtful conversation, we will explore your story, relationships, and experiences that have shaped you with curiosity rather than criticism… After all it is difficult to know where you are going if you have not had the chance to understand where you have come from.

For more information please refer to my website.

Lastly, if you are considering therapy please book a consultation. It’s an opportunity to see whether The Gracious Space feels like somewhere you could begin or continue the work of understanding yourself more fully.

Training, qualifications & experience

Alongside my private practice, I have previous experience working within NHS affiliated services. I counselled individuals experiencing eating disorders through a specialist charity service embedded within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, working collaboratively as part of a wider multidisciplinary network of care.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the Oxfordshire Psychotherapy Society. I am committed to maintaining high standards of ethical and reflective practice through regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, which forms the first stage of a comprehensive four-year training pathway in psychodynamic psychotherapy. In the latter half of this year, I will begin the second stage of this training, supporting my progression towards accreditation with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and further deepening my knowledge and practice.

Prior to training as a therapist, I completed a BSc in Sociology, which provided me with a broader understanding of the social, cultural, and relational contexts that shape people's lives and wellbeing. This perspective continues to inform my appreciation of the many factors that can influence emotional experiences and mental health.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
