About me

Do you feel like you’re stuck in a loop? Perhaps you’re constantly battling "what if" thoughts, feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, or finding that anxiety is shrinking your world. When you’re caught in these patterns, life can feel like a series of hurdles rather than something to be enjoyed. If you feel like you aren’t able to do the things you love, or if your mind feels like an unkind place to be, CBT therapy might be able to help.

How we work together I am an experienced CBT Psychotherapist with 8 years of experience within the NHS with both adults and children. I don't believe in "one size fits all" therapy. While I am a specialist in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I work in a person-centred way. This means I see you as a whole person - not just a diagnosis.

CBT is a practical, collaborative tool. Together, we will:

  • Identify the 'Hooks': Pinpoint the specific thoughts and behaviors that keep you stuck.
  • Build Your Toolkit: Develop tangible skills to manage physical sensations and regulate emotions.
  • Look Deeper: Explore your core beliefs to help you understand your sense of self and build lasting self-esteem.

Who I help I work with adults navigating a variety of challenges, including:

  •  Anxiety & Worry: (Social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD, and GAD).
  • Low Mood: Breaking the cycle of depression and low motivation.
  • Trauma & Phobias: Processing difficult past experiences in a safe environment.
  • Neurodiversity: Supporting neurodivergent individuals in developing strategies for navigating daily life.
  • General Growth: You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit; if you want to live more in line with your values, CBT can provide the roadmap.

The First Step Therapy is a partnership. We’ll start by agreeing on your specific goals and a timeframe that feels right for you - whether that’s short-term focused work or longer-term exploration. I offer sessions both remotely and face-to-face to suit your lifestyle.

I know how overwhelming it can be to choose a therapist. If you have any questions or just want to see if we’re a good fit, please send me an inquiry. I’m happy to have an informal chat to help put your mind at ease.
