About me
I'm Hannah, a BABCP-accredited psychotherapist in Bristol. I specialise in helping parents reclaim a life that feels meaningful after birth trauma and baby loss.
I know that what you've been through can leave you feeling like a stranger to yourself. The scan photos you cannot bear to look at. The panic when someone mentions another pregnancy. The sense that you failed at something your body was supposed to just do. It is heavy, and it is so common, even though nobody talks about it.
I work part time in an NHS Maternal Mental Health Service and part time in private practice. This is not a side interest for me. It is what I do every day. My approach is grounded in compassion and common sense. No jargon. Just proper, evidence-based therapy at a pace that feels manageable.
I offer sessions in person at my central Bristol practice and online across the UK. I provide a free 15-minute telephone consultation so you can get a sense of whether working together feels right before committing to anything.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am also accredited with Interpersonal Psychotherapy UK (IPTUK) and I am a trained EMDR therapist.
I have over a decade of clinical experience. I currently work in an NHS Maternal Mental Health Service alongside my private practice, supporting women with birth trauma, baby loss and tokophobia. I also supervise trainee clinical psychologists from the University of Bath who are on placement in the service.
Previously, I worked at the University of Exeter as a supervisor on the High Intensity CBT training programme for three years, and I continue to deliver ad hoc lecturing for the Exeter clinical psychology trainees on the perinatal mental health module.
I am currently completing an MSc, undertaking a service evaluation project exploring the effectiveness of EMDR and CBT for birth trauma and baby loss presentations.
I have delivered CPD and workshops to a range of organisations, including women's health physiotherapists, covering trauma-informed care, birth trauma and baby loss.
My core therapeutic approaches are:
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including Acceptance and Commitment
- Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
- Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy (PGDT)
- I am registered with AXA, Aviva and Cigna Global Health.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
