About me

I offer therapy online and, where practicable, in person in my back garden. I generally see individuals weekly and couples fortnightly.

I am a fully qualified, registered, accredited and experienced psychotherapist, counsellor and clinical supervisor. I work "integratively", blending varied therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs and multi-cultural backgrounds.

In these very challenging and occasional confusing times, our weekly sessions may be your only “you” time. I'll support you to make the changes that help you live more contentedly. I aim to be someone you can relate to, connect with and trust.

Do contact me - email and text is best as I often can't answer my phone. Send me your name and contact details - I will get back to you.

The talking relationship we develop in our sessions is an important part of the therapeutic process. I offer you a safe space to openly and honestly explore whatever you need. Together we regularly review where you are in the therapeutic process, ensuring that I best support your needs throughout. I am independent and impartial.

I offer:

  • therapy to individuals (youths & adults)
  • couples therapy
  • therapy for qualified and trainee therapists
  • clinical supervision
  • EMDR

My fees:

  • from £60 per 50 mins weekday sessions for individuals
  • from £100 per 75 mins sessions for couples every 2-3 weeks

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP

UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I fully understand today's pressures of surviving our current crisis, keeping your job, trying to find a new (possibly different) job, surviving working life, building resilience, staying resilient and finding your personal work/life balance.

I hold an LLB (Hons) and worked in the law for over 20 years. During this time I learned the importance of listening to others' difficulties (and not just their legal problems) with which I helped them. I then decided to focus on helping support others when they find life difficult, unsatisfactory or overwhelming,

While in the law I supported clients, colleagues, lawyers and law students. In addition to giving legal advice, I gained invaluable experience “counselling” colleagues, clients and students with life challenging issues.
