Clinical Psychologist & CBT Therapist. DClinPsy, HCPC, BABCP

About me

People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, burnt out, changed by illness, or struggling to adjust to something life did not prepare them for. Sometimes there is a clear concern. At other times, health, work, relationships and how you feel about yourself have become difficult to separate.

I’m an Oxford-trained Clinical Psychologist and CBT Therapist offering online therapy in English and Italian. Alongside anxiety, low mood and trauma, my work often involves difficulties that feel complex or hard to place neatly: the emotional impact of illness, changes in appearance, the pressures of working in healthcare, or experiences that have affected your sense of who you are.

My approach is warm, thoughtful and practical. You bring your knowledge of yourself, your life and what matters to you; my role is to bring psychological understanding, clinical experience and evidence-based approaches. Together, we explore how things have come to feel this way, what may be keeping them difficult and where there might be room for change. Your relationships, culture and circumstances are part of that understanding.

Some people want space to reflect more deeply; others are looking for structure and practical strategies. Often, therapy involves both. We might work on responding differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, understanding recurring patterns, or making sense of experiences that still affect you. We’ll agree the focus together and keep checking that the work feels relevant and helpful.

You do not need to fit neatly into these descriptions or know exactly what support you need. You are very welcome to get in touch for a free introductory call to talk about what you are looking for and whether I might be the right person to help, with no obligation to continue.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Oxford, following a Master’s in Clinical Neuropsychiatry at King’s College London and postgraduate training in low-intensity CBT at University College London.

My experience spans NHS mental health, physical health and specialist services, including adult psychological therapies, neurological rehabilitation, learning disability services and adolescent inpatient care. I have also worked in specialist craniofacial and facial palsy services and supported NHS staff with their own mental health and wellbeing. Alongside my private practice, I work as a Clinical Psychologist with the charity Facial Palsy UK.

I work with people experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, life transitions, long-term health conditions and trauma. I have a particular interest in the relationship between physical and emotional wellbeing, including Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), persistent physical symptoms, adjustment to illness and the impact of changes in appearance. My work with healthcare professionals has also shaped my interest in work-related pressures, professional identity and burnout.

My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and dialectical behaviour, narrative and systemic approaches. This allows me to draw on different ways of understanding difficulties and adapt therapy to the person in front of me. Together, we consider not only symptoms, but also your experiences, relationships, values and the circumstances you are living in.

I also trained as a yoga teacher, which informs my interest in the mind–body connection.

I value cultural sensitivity and offer therapy in English or Italian. My hope is to offer a space where you can make sense of what is happening, feel more grounded, and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Additional information

Therapy sessions cost £120. Higher fees apply to standalone psychological assessments or consultations, for example, around complex health-related decisions, surgery or medical treatment. Some requests may need a longer appointment or more than one session; we’ll discuss this together and agree the total fee before booking.

I understand that starting therapy is a big financial commitment. I offer reduced-fee spaces for people experiencing financial difficulty and for NHS staff, and I also see clients through most private insurance providers. If you’re worried about the cost, you’re very welcome to get in touch and we can think together about what might be possible.

Either way, I would usually start with a free introductory call: a chance to talk about what you’re looking for, whether I’m likely to be the right person to help and what the next step would involve, with no obligation to continue.

Other ways to work together

Alongside ongoing therapy, I offer standalone psychological assessments and consultations for people who would like to explore a specific concern without necessarily starting a course of therapy. These may include support with complex health-related decisions or an assessment requested in relation to surgery or medical treatment.
