About me
I am an experienced adult psychotherapist trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, currently working in private practice. I specialise in longer term in depth psychotherapy, but I also offer shorter-term psychodynamic psychotherapy.
I have worked therapeutically with patients from different backgrounds and age groups, which has allowed me to develop an in depth understanding of the challenges and difficulties that people who are seeking psychotherapy struggle with. I approach the therapeutic encounter as a relational experience that allows the individual to get to know themselves and their inner world through the relationship with the therapist. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy can help to address persistent underlying issues affecting one’s view of oneself and their relationships with others.
I also worked in university counselling, offering short-term psychotherapy to young adults who sought help whilst struggling to find their way in the world, or felt stuck at a particular time in their life. This experience contributed to my understanding of how even a short-term engagement, guided by a psychodynamic approach, can have a meaningful impact on another’s person understanding of themselves and their relationships, and help to make sense of their past and present difficulties.
Working within an NHS service treating adults with complex needs, I appreciate the value of long-term psychotherapy for people who struggle with chronic anxiety and depression, which can get in the way of leading a meaningful and fulfilled life.
The psychoanalytic psychotherapy setting provides a regular and containing space where personal difficulties can be heard and thought about in a non-judgemental way, creating opportunities for in depth understanding and fostering emotional growth.
Getting in touch
In the first instance, if you are interested in exploring the possibility of working with me, please send me an email. I will usually offer an initial brief telephone call, and then a 50 minutes initial consultation, where you can tell me about yourself and we can discuss the most suitable treatment options for you.
If we both feel that we could work together, then I would usually offer a few more initial consultations to continue a joint exploration of your difficulties, and consider starting individual psychotherapy. We would also discuss the frequency of the sessions, starting from once-weekly to more intensive treatment.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
