About me
I’m Dr Amber Gintare Andrews, a Registered Member MBACP and founder of Path to Balance. I offer warm, confidential, person-centred counselling for adults and young people aged 13+, both face-to-face in Milton Keynes and Bedford and online across the UK.
You may be considering counselling because you’re experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, low confidence or a significant life transition. You may also be exploring how ADHD, autism or other aspects of neurodiversity affect your emotions, relationships and everyday life.
My approach is warm, respectful and collaborative. I offer a space where you can slow down, talk openly and make sense of what you’re experiencing without judgement or pressure to have everything figured out.
My practice is informed by person-centred and psychodynamic perspectives, alongside trauma-informed and somatic approaches. Where appropriate, I may incorporate creative and experiential ways of working and gently explore body awareness, nervous-system regulation and recovery.
I believe counselling is a collaborative process. Rather than telling you what you should do, I will support you in developing greater self-understanding, recognising patterns, building emotional resources and finding a way forward that feels right for you.
Sessions are £60 and a free 15-minute initial consultation is available. I offer face-to-face appointments in Milton Keynes and Bedford, as well as online counselling across the UK.
English and Lithuanian spoken.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and a qualified therapeutic counsellor, with a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I hold a PhD and have additional professional training in coaching and NLP, alongside specialist training in Autism Awareness.
I have completed training in Psychodynamic Theory and am currently undertaking CPCAB Level 5 training in Somatic Trauma Therapy, further developing my understanding of trauma, the nervous system and the relationship between emotional and physical experiences. My current counselling practice is trauma-informed and increasingly informed by somatic approaches.
I have clinical experience working with adults and young people aged 13+, including clients experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, life transitions and neurodiversity-related challenges. My practice experience includes working with neurodivergent clients, including ADHD and autistic clients.
Alongside my private practice, I continue to develop my clinical experience through supervised counselling practice and ongoing professional development. I receive regular clinical supervision and maintain a commitment to ethical, reflective and evidence-informed practice.
My therapeutic approach is primarily person-centred, with my wider training informing an integrative and individualised approach to each client.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you have never had counselling before or are unsure whether it is right for you.
My aim is to create a space where you can feel heard, respected and able to be yourself. You don't need to arrive with everything worked out or know exactly what you want to achieve. We can start with what feels most important to you and work from there.
I welcome people from diverse backgrounds and identities and aim to provide an inclusive, respectful space where you can explore your experiences without judgement. I have a particular interest in supporting people navigating neurodiversity, life transitions, relationships, identity and emotional overwhelm.
I also speak Lithuanian and offer both face-to-face and online sessions.
If you're wondering whether we might be a good fit, you are welcome to get in touch or book a free 15-minute consultation. There is no obligation to continue with counselling afterwards.
