About me

Hi there, I’m a post op trans woman that transitioned late in life. When I did so, there seemed to be a real lack trans people in the therapy world, and going through all that stuff with cis gendered people drove me mad, I felt like I had to explain my story again and again just to justify my actions. So I set about training myself up to become a counsellor so that there would be one extra trans person able to extend the hand of help. These days, thankfully, there are quite a few more of us.

My ideal client is someone who may be thinking of transitioning, maybe stuck, unsure what to do, and needs the likes of me to talk things through and find clarity of thought. I offer a free 20 minute zoom or call, so you can get a real sense of me, this is an opportunity to ask questions, then take your time to consider if you would like to work together. I suggest that you speak to more than one therapist, get a real feel for who you would like to work with, it is a big decision. Drop me a line.

Profile picture: This was a trans pride event which I really enjoy. I’m not an activist or even very vocal, I believe in quietly getting on with my life, supporting many trans, gender diverse and LGBTQ+ communities. You don’t have to have a trans issue to need help, I’ve talked to loads of trans people with life issues. I’m also happy to see people from all walks of life, we are all diverse and unique in some way.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
