About me
My name is Gina Riglione, and I’m a qualified counsellor with a strong commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing. I’m trained in Integrative Counselling, which means I draw on different approaches to meet your individual needs. My work is informed mainly by Person-Centred Therapy (creating a safe, supportive environment for self-exploration and growth) and Psychodynamic Therapy (exploring how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be influencing the present). I may also incorporate Attachment Theory, which can be especially helpful for relationship concerns and understanding how we connect with others.
I provide counselling for adults and young people aged 13 and over, offering a confidential and supportive space to talk things through at your own pace. Sessions can be in person, online, or by telephone, with flexible options. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low, or simply needing space to make sense of what’s going on, we can work together to explore your experiences and help you move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, both awarded by CPCAB (the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body). I also completed a BSc (Hons) with a focus on Psychology and Physiology.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I practise in line with their ethical framework, ensuring my work is grounded in high professional standards and always centred on the client’s best interests.
I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate.
I have a Certificate in Counselling Safely online from the Open University, approved by the BACP.
I have experience working with adults and young people from diverse contexts and have supported clients with a wide range of concerns, such as abuse, addiction, anxiety, bereavement, cultural challenges, depression, eating difficulties, health-related issues, identity, loss, OCD, personal development, redundancy, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, self-harm, stress, trauma, life transitions, and work-related issues.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
