About me
There may be unresolved traumas in your life, painful feelings in relation to loss and bereavement or possibly some important decisions that need to be made which are causing you distress and confusion. Maybe you feel stuck with a lack of direction and focus or find yourself repeating unhelpful patterns of behaviour.
I work integratively offering a safe space to explore issues, find solutions and make appropriate changes. Being heard and understood without judgement is the most important aspect of my work. My core belief is that our past informs our present which shapes our future.
Together we can explore all aspects of your life in a holistic way in order to empower you make the choices and decisions you feel are appropriate for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a professional, qualified and experienced counsellor based in Surrey and I hold a distinction in a post graduate diploma in Integrative counselling from Greenwich University. I have had a career in the substance misuse and mental health field for more than 30 years. This has afforded me many years experience working with the consequences of trauma, the intricacies of relationships and the negative outcomes of self defeating behaviour and thoughts. Addiction is just one symptom. Unhelpful coping strategies are multiple including self harm, eating disorders and obsessive behaviours.
I have extensive experience of working with family members who are impacted as a result of their loved ones struggles.
Give me a call or send me an e mail and we can set up an initial session to talk about what you want to get out of counselling and if you are happy to continue we will arrange the time to start your sessions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
