About me

Hi there - I'm Gill. Do you find worry, anxiety or low mood holds you back from really enjoying life? You are not alone. I am a counsellor who can provide you with a space to breathe, let go of those difficult feelings and explore where they've come from. I help people with many different issues, such as anxiety, depression, or just feeling stuck or lost on life's treadmill.

If any of this feels familiar,  I can help you work through these difficult and sometimes scary feelings that can be hard to carry. We can work together to help you feel more grounded, confident and able to manage life's challenges and help you feel more like the person you want to be. You have the tools, I will help you use them and build trust in yourself going forwards.

Therapy is a journey  but it can be life changing, as it was for me, and I feel passionate about enabling my clients to go through a similar process, to know themselves better and build confidence and self-worth which can make such a difference when faced with all the things life throws at us  - in the here and now, and from the past.

I am also a couples therapist so if it's your relationship you want help with, I can support you navigating life together and allow you both to feel heard so you can understand each other better. And if you are struggling with other relationship issues that are causing you unhappiness, drop me an email and I can help you both to communicate with each other in a more helpful way to enable a deeper understanding together and find a way through.

I also have experience in working with new and pregnant mothers so if any of this sounds familiar as a mother please contact me, and we can work together to help you  build trust in yourself going forwards to feel a more confident secure mother . Becoming a parent is one of the biggest life changes there is, and it can often feel that everyone else is managing on the outside. They're not, and you are not alone in feeling this.

Through my previous career in the NHS I also have additional experience working with parents who have children with chronic illness or bereavement.

If any of the above feels familiar to you and you need someone to talk to please do contact me and let's face those challenges together.

Starting counselling can feel very daunting but you have made the first step. I offer a free 15 minute telephone or video call to see if this feels right for you before booking sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
