About me

There's something quietly powerful about being properly seen and heard - without judgement, without interruption, and without needing to be anything other than yourself.  In a world that often expects you to just keep coping, I offer a safe pace where you can stop, reflect and be completely honest about how you feel.  A space where your thoughts, feelings and experiences are met with warmth, compassion, and care.

I am here to help clients navigate life changes and challenges. Counselling can offer insight, clarity and new perspectives and  I offer support for a wide range of issues that includes (but is not limited to):

  • relationship and family difficulties
  • life transitions (such as pregnancy, parenting, study or work changes, relocation, ending of a relationship, physical or mental health diagnosis, loss, bereavement, caring responsibilities, menopause, ageing)
  • anxiety, stress and low self-esteem
  • loneliness and isolation

You are not alone; together we can begin to make sense of what feels overwhelming, rediscover your inner strengths, and create room for change and growth at a pace that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I trained as an integrative counsellor and work in a predominantly person-centred way which is client-led with the emphasis on self-discovery and our own innate ability to reach our potential. I use other approaches and interventions as needed for each individual client. I bring life experience to the role of gentle, supportive counsellor and can offer genuine empathy from a place of understanding.

I have worked in business and education and held a voluntary role with a charity that supports young people. I have recent counselling experience with survivors of domestic abuse and with a charity that supports those experiencing homelessness. I have also worked with a private agency, supporting clients with a wide range of issues. I regularly complete Continuous Professional Development training.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
