About me

Whatever you are going through, it can help to have a safe space where you feel seen, heard, accepted and understood, just as you are.  A space where you can be completely honest about how you feel.

Counselling can offer insight, clarity and new perspectives and it can allow you to develop a kinder relationship with yourself.  I support adults to navigate life changes and challenges such as:

  • relationship and family difficulties
  • anxiety, stress and low self-esteem
  • loneliness and isolation
  • life transitions (for example, pregnancy, parenting, study or work changes, relocation, ending of a relationship, physical or mental health diagnosis, loss, bereavement, caring responsibilities, menopause, ageing)

You don't need to face your difficulties alone - together we can begin to make sense of what feels overwhelming and rediscover your inner strengths, at a pace that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I am an integrative counsellor and work in a person-centred, client-led way. The person-centred approach enables clients to explore their issues in a confidential and supportive setting.  It is based on the belief that we each have the capacity for self-healing and personal growth when provided with the right therapeutic environment.

I bring life experience to the role of gentle, supportive counsellor and can offer genuine empathy from a place of understanding.

I have previously worked in business and education and held a voluntary role with a charity that supports young people. I have recent counselling experience with survivors of domestic abuse and with a charity that supports those experiencing homelessness.

I regularly undertake professional development training on a wide range of issues.  Recent training has explored toxic family relationships, late diagnosed ADHD, narcissism, and supporting clients who present with a history of sexual abuse.

I am here to listen when you feel ready to talk.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
