About me
Are you seeking a compassionate and experienced therapeutic counsellor with a special focus on neurodiversity? Do you feel like you are wearing a mask and no one knows the real you? Are you interested in exploring what life may be like without the mask? Look no further.
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Giancarlo Cristea, a dedicated and highly qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor. My practice is grounded in a rich tapestry of therapeutic modalities, including the Person-Centred Approach, Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Positive Psychology. These diverse influences converge to create a unique therapeutic experience tailored to your individual needs.
I'm not your typical counsellor, and that's by design. Being neurodivergent myself, my therapeutic approach is rooted in a deep understanding of neurodiversity, and my passion is to create a safe, understanding, and inclusive space for neurodivergent souls.
Tailored Support for Neurodivergent Journeys
As a neurodiversity-affirming counsellor, I offer a sanctuary—a place where you can be your authentic self, free from judgment. Our therapeutic journey is built on trust, warmth, and empathy, creating a space where we can explore your complex emotions, thoughts, and challenges together. I don't see neurodivergence as a challenge to overcome but as a unique tapestry of strengths, talents, and perspectives. Whether you're autistic, have ADHD, or identify with another neurodivergent identity, you bring something extraordinary to the world, and I'm here to help you shine.
I firmly believe that neurodivergent individuals bring invaluable strengths and perspectives to the world. Yet, the conventional therapeutic landscape often overlooks their unique needs. I am passionate about closing this gap. My approach is modern, forward-thinking, and personalized, co-created with you to discover tailored solutions that empower and work for you.
No two individuals are alike, and that's why my approach is bespoke, finely tuned to your unique needs and preferences. Together, we will delve into uncharted territory, uncovering new perspectives, enhancing self-awareness, and rediscovering the authentic you. I celebrate the kaleidoscope of human experiences, with a special focus on the vibrant diversity of neurodivergent identities.
A Holistic Approach to Healing
In my practice, I recognize the profound interconnectedness of mind and body. We will work together to untangle the threads of your past and present, addressing issues stemming from childhood, physical illness, or spiritual crises. Healing is a holistic journey, and I'm here to guide you through it. It's about healing the whole self.
Beyond Counselling, Towards Advocacy
My commitment to support neurodivergence doesn't stop at the counselling room. I've been on the front lines, advocating for social inclusion, harm reduction, and human rights for marginalized populations. My dedication extends beyond words; it's in my actions.
Beyond therapeutic counselling, I have dedicated my time to volunteer work supporting chronically ill and disabled patients in accessing medical cannabis in the UK. My interests encompass harm reduction, social inclusion for marginalized populations, and advocating for human rights.

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
