About me
Hi, I'm Georgia. I’m a counsellor and therapist specialising in supporting adults who have difficult relationships with their parents.
People come to therapy when they are feeling stuck, lost, confused, or overwhelmed and ready to make changes.
As your therapist, I’m not only here to listen - I can help you build insight and develop strategies so you can live life on your own terms.
I provide a reliable, honest, and confidential space where you can focus on your wellbeing and deepen your understanding of yourself and others.
- Do you become your teenage self around your parent? Can’t control your emotions or behaviour when you’re with them?
- Do you feel like you could never be good enough, clever enough, or successful enough to please your parent?
- Are you estranged from your parent and processing the loss (or absence) of your relationship with them?
- Are you caring for your parent and struggling with the shift in your role and responsibilities?
- Do you feel like you need closure after the death of your parent has left your relationship unresolved?
I’m here to help you navigate your relationship with your parent(s) as well as supporting you with:
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression
- Feeling low
- Stress and burnout
- Trauma
- Narcissistic abuse
- Grief and loss
- Loneliness
- Relationships and dating
- Sexuality and intimacy
- Friendships
- Work and career
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Identity and purpose
- Living with a disability or chronic illness
About how I work
I use techniques and models from a type of psychotherapy called Transactional Analysis (TA) and I can introduce some of the key theories from TA in our sessions so you can use them in your own way.
My approach to therapy is relational. This means that the relationship between the client and therapist is an important part of therapy. This approach is particularly effective for the issues I specialise in.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place on a weekly basis at a regular day/time slot.
Therapy can be:
- short-term (usually 6-10 weekly sessions) - focusing on gaining clarity and coping with current issues in your daily life;
- long-term (10+ weekly sessions) - focusing on current issues as well as exploring how your past experiences shape your daily life to identify unconscious patterns and make lasting changes.
I seek to provide inclusive therapy where every person can feel safe and understood, no matter their background. My work is:
- Anti-racist
- Anti-ableist
- LGBTQIA+ inclusive
- Trans-affirming
- Inclusive of open relationships, non-monogamy/ENM and polyamory
- Inclusive of Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity (GSRD)
