Dr Genevieve von Lob, Clinical Psychologist and Parenting coach.
I offer 1-1 online zoom sessions to adults aged 18 and over with a wide variety of presenting issues including anxiety, low moods, anger, low self-esteem, work pressures, family and relationship difficulties, identity issues, life transitions, sexuality and those looking for clarity and a sense of meaning and purpose. I also specialise in coaching parents in supporting their children aged 0-12 with behaviour challenges, meltdowns, tantrums, anxiety, anger, tearfulness, sleep issues, routines, low self-esteem, school and friendship difficulties and technology. I have a particular interest in working with the parents of highly sensitive children (see Dr Elaine Aron work on highly sensitive people).
During my fifteen years as a clinical psychologist in the NHS and in private practice including Harley Street, I have helped hundreds of adults and families. From overcoming anxiety, stress, struggle and overwhelm to developing a sense of resilience, confidence, calm, and meaning, it is my absolute passion to support adults to navigate life's challenges and help you to truly grow and thrive. I know we have all the solutions and knowledge within us, but sometimes we need a little support to help unlock this inner wisdom. I will help to facilitate a space so that you can access some of your own inner guidance. I will also provide you with a toolkit of transformational tools and strategies (and you and your child if you are coming to me for parent work) and resources. I also provide Whatsapp support between our sessions which helps to keep my clients focused, encouraged and on track.
I will hold a truly safe, confidential and trusting space for you to explore issues in depth. My work is integrative based on years of exploration and distilling down what I have found works with my clients. I draw on CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Neuroscience and Person Centred approaches. I am also an explorer and remain curious and open minded to new approaches of healing and I have studied many other approaches, including mind-body therapies, Vipassana meditation, energy psychology including EFT, flower medicines, sound healing therapies and women's circle work.
If you are interested in talking further, then I invite you to email me here and I can send you a link to book in a free 30 minute online discovery call with me. I will tell you more about what I offer and answer any queries you may have. There is no obligation to sign up with me as it's important that the match feels right for both of us.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist within NHS adult and Child and Adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) as well as in private practice for over 10 years.
I trained at Salomons, Canterbury Christ Church University and completed my accreditation in CBT at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
Health and Care Professions Council
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
