About me

I am a qualified therapist and registered member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I have experience of working with clients with a wide range of emotional difficulties and struggles, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, grief, life direction/purpose struggles, self-esteem, trauma, loneliness, people-pleasing and more.

I believe that ALL emotions are valid and natural responses to lived experiences, including trauma. During your sessions, I will offer you a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can feel and process your emotions at your own pace without judgement or advice. What you decide to bring to your sessions is entirely your own choice, and you will not be made to talk about anything you do not wish to discuss. I will ensure regular reviews take place during our sessions, to help us to reflect on the counselling process and to see how beneficial you are finding our time together.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have more questions, and I will do my best to assist.

Counselling does not provide a magic wand solution to your issues, it’s the work we do together that brings about change.

Training, qualifications & experience

The first session together is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and for you to hopefully get a feel for whether I am the right counsellor for you. It is also an opportunity for me to get to know you a little and to gain an understanding of your therapy goals, what you would like to work on in sessions and how we can cater your therapy in a way that will give you the most benefit. During this appointment, I will also explain the counselling process and confidentiality in more depth, which can be reassuring and will help you know what to expect. We will discuss what you want to work on during the sessions and any goals of therapy can be agreed upon (these can be reviewed at any time during the counselling process). It is an opportunity for you to see if I am the right counsellor for you and if I offer what you are looking for.

In the current financial climate, I know people will have concerns about wasting money by paying for initial sessions with counsellors to find that they’re not suitable for what you need. Because of this, I provide a 20 minute online/telephone consultation free of charge. There is no obligation or expectation for you to book further sessions if you don’t feel that the fit is right. It’s so important that you can have a good working relationship with your therapist, as it helps to give you the best therapeutic outcomes.
