About me

For the past decade I’ve worked in private practice with both couples and individuals, creating a space where people feel genuinely safe, heard and understood. My practice grew out of watching many Christians wrestle with their connection to themselves, to God, and to one another, and wanting to offer a place of real healing and growth.

Grounded in attachment theory and informed by Internal Family Systems, I weave their insights into every session, helping clients recognise and transform the patterns that keep them stuck. As a father to three young girls, I know firsthand how the demands of parenthood can strain even the strongest partnership, and I’m passionate about helping families find their way back to each other.

If you’re struggling, know that I care deeply about your well-being and am committed to helping you step into the life you were created for.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been supporting individuals and couples in private practice since 2016. I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP as well as an accredited registrant with the NCPS. My work integrates attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic principles, enabling me to tailor therapy to each person’s unique story. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, shame, or questions of faith and identity, my aim is to provide a thoughtful, compassionate space where you can explore what’s going on beneath the surface and experience genuine, lasting growth.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I believe that our struggles rarely begin where they appear. Symptoms such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, compulsive behaviours, low self-worth, or feeling stuck are often meaningful adaptations to experiences that have shaped us over time. Rather than simply managing symptoms, I aim to help clients understand why they feel and respond as they do, creating the conditions for lasting change.

My work is informed by attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic thinking, and contemporary neuroscience. Together, these approaches help us explore how early relationships and life experiences continue to influence the way we think, feel, relate to others, and understand ourselves today.

I work with both individuals and couples facing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, shame, grief, addiction, life transitions, and questions of identity and purpose. As a Christian counsellor, I also work with many clients who want to integrate their faith into therapy, while warmly welcoming those from different faith backgrounds or none at all. My aim is always to offer a compassionate, thoughtful, and non-judgemental space where clients feel safe enough to be honest, understood, and ultimately transformed.
