About me

Hi I’m Gail, a qualified and experienced Integrative counsellor. I am a warm, compassionate person who believes we all need someone to reach out to when experiencing complicated, challenging or emotional times in our lives.

Perhaps you feel stuck, caught in a cycle or unable to see the way forward. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, anger or low self esteem and question how you might change these. Whatever you are feeling, you don’t have to face it alone. I am here to listen, empathise and walk that journey with you.

I believe in the power of connection and as a therapist my desire is to create a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where we can unpack and explore the things that are important to you.

You may feel hesitant about starting therapy and that’s understandable. My approach is relational, my aim; that by working together we build a relationship that is open, secure, valued and individual. One where you feel heard, seen, supported and comfortable.

Each client and their story is unique, it’s important to me that you feel accepted and valued, therefore sessions are tailored to your needs to ensure you get the best out of therapy, as one size doesn’t fit all. We can work together on a long- or short-term basis. The framework for our sessions is with you as the expert on your life. Using this as the basis we can together, explore new insights, form new perspective, be curious about negative thoughts, beliefs and behaviours. Focusing on understanding how your experiences have shaped you and your life.

In our space there is no judgment, I will step into your journey wherever you are with compassion and kindness. Focusing on helping you build the confidence needed to move forward or tackle lifes ups and downs. We can work face-2-face where I can provide a warm, safe and comfortable space in my private therapy room, on-line or walking and talking. However you choose to work, we will find a way that connects for you.

If you feel like getting in touch, please do, I offer an initial 30min introductory call.  No matter how big or small you feel your problem is, I may be able to help.

I have over 10 years’ experience of working in Primary education. I work with the children and their families giving me in-depth knowledge of how issues can affect the family as a whole. Also, I have experience of working at Sutton Woman’s Centre, providing long term therapy to women affected by domestic violence and abuse. I have in depth experience in supporting clients of childhood and adult sexual abuse and the difficulties this may present in adult life, such as; relationship difficulties, eating disorder, self-harm, trauma, childhood trauma and PTSD.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
