About me
I am a BACP registered counsellor. I work in a Person Centred way which means I hold you at the centre of our therapeutic work together. I understand the value of having someone listen to you, and empathise with you, whatever you are going through. At the heart of my work is building a trusting relationship where you feel safe enough to share what’s going on for you. I have a lot of experience working with young people and adults. I have worked in education in a number of roles (teaching and counselling) which has given me real insight into the pressures young people face and the pressure on teachers. I am able to empathise deeply with the stresses and anxieties that are placed on people in this sector whatever their age, neurodiversity, identity, gender and heritage.
I work with clients facing all sorts of situations, e.g. pressures at home/work, stress, carers, including young carers and relationship breakdowns. My approach is warm hearted and kind, central to putting you at your ease, as I know starting counselling can sometimes feel scary.
I will always work ethically and with your best interests in mind. I adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions (01/07/18).
Please get in touch and we can arrange a telephone conversation prior to agreeing our first session. I can answer any initial questions you may have and talk about what has led you here and how I might help.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

In addition to my counselling work, I am also a poet and artist. Exploring our inner worlds through the creative process is very much a part of my life and something I really value.
