About me
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. You may have been carrying things on your own for a long time, telling yourself you should be able to cope, while privately feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low or simply unlike yourself. Perhaps you've noticed the same patterns repeating in your relationships, feel weighed down by self-criticism, or find yourself stuck despite your best efforts to move forward.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to navigate it alone.
I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely heard, understood and accepted. My aim is to offer a calm, compassionate and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences without fear of judgement. Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, making sense of your difficulties, understanding where they may have come from, and helping you develop new ways of responding that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, low self-esteem, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, perfectionism and emotional overwhelm. Whether your difficulties feel recent or have been present for many years, therapy can provide an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply and create lasting change.
My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than following a single model. Drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches, I adapt our work to suit your unique experiences, personality and goals. Some clients benefit from understanding how earlier life experiences continue to shape the present, while others prefer a more practical focus on developing new coping strategies. Often, therapy naturally weaves both together.
Alongside exploring difficulties, I also believe in recognising strengths. Therapy is not simply about reducing distress; it is about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become buried beneath anxiety, self-doubt or difficult life experiences. My hope is that you leave therapy with greater self-understanding, increased confidence and a stronger sense of who you are.
Finding the right therapist is an important decision. If you have any questions or would like to discuss whether I may be the right fit for you, I would be delighted to hear from you.
