About me
If work has pushed you past your limits, you may recognise the pattern: exhausted but wired, struggling to switch off, and losing touch with the things that used to matter to you. I'm Laurent, an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist and BABCP-accredited CBT therapist. I help adults find their way back from stress, burnout and anxiety.
I work in particular with professionals experiencing work stress and burnout. I also see people with anxiety, low mood and depression, OCD, phobias (including driving and passenger anxiety), trauma, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship difficulties, life transitions and the emotional impact of chronic health conditions. I offer neurodiversity-affirming therapy for ADHD and autistic adults.
My main approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based model within the CBT family. ACT helps you make room for difficult thoughts and feelings so they hold you back less, and helps you move towards what matters to you. I also draw on compassion-focused and mindfulness-based methods where they fit.
I see therapy as teamwork. We both take an active part in sessions, often using practical and experiential exercises, and you try out new skills between appointments. Therapy is time-limited and focused. After an initial assessment, we agree on a block of four sessions to build momentum, then review progress together and decide on next steps. Sessions are usually weekly.
I see clients in person at my practice in Solihull and online anywhere in the UK. If you'd like to find out whether we're a good fit, I invite you to book a free 15-minute introductory call.
