About me

My name is Francesca and I have been a therapist for over four years.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, especially when speaking to someone new. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever difficulties you may be facing at your own pace. No problem is too small or too overwhelming to bring to therapy.

I work with adults from all walks of life and offer both counselling and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

Before retraining in mental health, I worked for eight years as a specialist educational needs teacher. I now work as a CBT therapist within NHS talking therapy services and specialise in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. Alongside CBT, I also offer a pluralistic counselling approach, drawing from humanistic, attachment-based, and psychodynamic approaches where appropriate.

I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and students experiencing anxiety, stress, procrastination, perfectionism, and low self-esteem. Sessions are adapted to suit individual communication and processing styles.

I currently offer online sessions online, telephone sessions, and face-to-face 1:1 sessions from my home practice near Kinson.

I am fully insured, qualified to Level 5 in Counselling and Level 7 in CBT, registered with the NCPS and accredited with the BABCP.

If you would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch for an informal, no-obligation conversation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified CBT therapist (level 7 BABCP) and a qualified pluralistic counsellor (level 5) with the NCPS.

I have 2 years CBT experience within NHS IAPT services and counselling within bereavement services and short term charity services working with a range of client difficulties.

Pluralistic counselling means I can work within person-centred/ humanistic, CBT and psychodynamic modalities. I can also utilise some CBT therapy skills if this would be helpful within counselling sessions. Counselling can feel helpful for exploring issues and building self-awareness. It is a gentle and safe way to learn more about yourself and things that may feel bothersome for you.

In terms of CBT specific work, I have experience in working with anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, panic, PTSD, low self-esteem, trauma-informed therapy and long term health conditions. I also work extensively with students suffering from stress, procrastination, perfectionist traits, performance anxiety, overwhelm and low mood. CBT can be great for people looking for solution-focused work, particularly if you have specific goals in mind.
